Zalto: Perfectly executed balance ..... Extraordinary design!

by Michael Weiss May 19, 2015

We are extremely excited and proud to be working with the Zalto Glass House.  Check out our selection of Zalto stems, carafes and decanters here (Zalto Denk'Art).  Our first shipment has arrived and we have stock ready to ship.  If you’re looking for a particular stem and don’t see it on our website, please let us know and we’ll get it for you.

At BWS, when we buy wine, we look for purity, sense of place, great palate presence and taste enjoyment.  We think that the glassware you use greatly enhances these nuances and the overall enjoyment of drinking wine.  We’ve been drinking from Zalto stems for several years after having experimented with most of the other stemware manufacturer’s glasses.   They are durable enough to use everyday for all of your drinking pleasure.  Just pop them in the dishwasher to clean them up.  We’re convinced that the Zalto line gives you all you need for great returns on your wine investment.

We appreciate winemakers who care about the details, the little things.  In glassware, that’s Zalto, they care about the details -- the look, the feel and the performance.  We can’t recommend them highly enough.

Pure Joy Barolo!
Pure Joy Barolo!

by Chris Walsh October 10, 2016

These are two Barolos that lean strongly to the traditional side of the spectrum. Month plus long fermentations/macerations on both, large Austrian oak aging for a significant percentage of the juice, as well as used tonneaux/barrique for the rest, 24 months in wood in total. Natural yeasts. Nothing added. Just great Barolo.

Stellar Example of the Beauty of Gamay!
Stellar Example of the Beauty of Gamay!

by Chris Walsh September 23, 2016

Special things have been happening on the southern end of Burgundy over the last several years.  A steady increase in quality and complexity has been emanating from places like the Cote Chalonnaise and the Macon.  Not to be outdone, the vignerons in Beaujolais(technically still Burgundy albeit closer to the Northern Rhone than Beaune) have kept pace and are continuing to breathe new life into a region that has been misunderstood for a long time.
