Exceptional poise and balance for this 100% Marsanne from the limestone, clay and granite soils of the west facing Chavarond vineyard. Nice precision and just a touch of richness that carry the slightly tropical and orchard fruits and honeysuckle and lilac floral scents. On the palate there is tender minerality (saline in nature) and a nice ginger spice component. A fine combination of freshness and complexity are present from the first hit all the way through the long, persistent finish. I'm a big fan of the white wines of the Northern Rhone, particularly in the 2014 vintage, and this wine is a hidden treasure. It ferments in stainless steel, spends about nine months on the lees in single occasion barrels. Only 500 bottles produced.
