Bright ruby color that sparkles when the light hits it. Cherry, fennel, violets, tree bark and characteristic Aloxe earthy notes. Richness and volume on the mid-weight palate that finishes with fine, dusty tannins. I first tasted this wine in November of 2015 at the Domaine where it was a bit on the austere side, yet with wonderful depth and length for village Aloxe. Now in the summer of 2017, it can still use a bit more time in the cellar, but it is developing quite nicely and retaining wonderful freshness. It should be hitting it's stride by 2019. 18 months in oak barrel of which 20% was new. Outstanding!Direct Import by Balanced Wine Selections.
