Variety: Pinot Noir
This steep, two hectare terraced site in Les Vallerots sits above Les Vaucrains. Planted in 2000 on clay, limestone, stone terroir that had laid fallow since the scourge of phylloxera. From these younger vines comes a Pinot Noir that is fresh and pure. Black cherry and floral scents dominate today. There is good tension, elegance and mouthfeel that defines the Les Terrasses at this point in its development. A feminine expression for sure. The grapes from this portion of Les Vallerots are generally picked late and given, the younger vine age, is typically drinking earlier than Axelle's Les Vallerots. All used oak. 100% destemmed. 100% organic.
