Variety(ies): Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Friulano
This is a cuvee of Ronc di Vico’s younger vine Friulano, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The wine ages in oak barrel on its lees, but doesn’t go through malolactic fermentation. Thus the wine shows bright citrus, white flower and mineral notes with an herbal touch for added nuance. I think that’s the low dose of Sauvignon Blanc in the cuvee making its presence felt. I love the texture and purity in this wine. This will drink great over the next five to seven years and should be a champ with lighter fish, shellfish, chicken and subtler pasta dishes. It will also accompany a wide variety of softer cheeses and charcuterie as either an aperitif or cheese course foil.
