U.S. Shipments

Ground shipping is included for all shipments of 6 or more bottles in a shipping box of any of our wines.  Valid only in the continental US.

Legal age requirement: Wines and other alcoholic beverages may be sold and delivered only to persons over the age of 21. By ordering from this website, you affirm that you are at least 21 years old. Balanced Wine Selections makes every effort to ensure that alcoholic beverages are not delivered to anyone who is under the age of 21. You must be 21 years of age to order and/or receive alcoholic beverages from Balanced Wine Selections. Any shipments containing alcoholic beverages are sent "Adult Signature Required," and the common carrier that delivers our merchandise is required to ask and check for identification upon delivery. This means that an adult will have to be present at the time of delivery..

Interstate shipping: BWS MAKES NO REPRESENTATION TO THE LEGAL RIGHTS OF ANYONE TO SHIP OR IMPORT WINES INTO ANY STATE OUTSIDE OF CALIFORNIA. IF YOU CHOOSE TO SHIP YOUR WINE TO A STATE OTHER THAN CALIFORNIA, YOU ASSUME ALL RESPONSILITY FOR COMPLYING WITH YOUR STATE'S LAWS REGARDING ALCOHOL SHIPMENTS.

All wines are sold in California and title passes to buyer in California. We make no representation as to the legal right of anyone to ship or import wines into any state or country outside of California. By placing an order with us, you authorize Balanced Wine Selections to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to you. If you wish to ship to another state, you assume all responsibility for determining whether you may lawfully import alcoholic beverages into that state. As interstate shipping laws are constantly changing, you may want to check with the appropriate agency in your state or county. Our acknowledgment of an order is not a guarantee that we will ultimately be able to ship wine to you. If we are unable to ship wine to the state you request, we will notify you before processing your order to determine whether you wish to proceed.  Please call us if you have a question of whether or not we ship to your state.

International Shipments

We accept international orders for many countries, and can provide a quote for international shipping upon request. Be aware that there may be additional duties, taxes, and tariffs based on your destination country. You are responsible for determining your customs charges, and they will be due COD upon delivery in your country. Shipping Terms / Fine Print:

You are reminded that various states impose limitations on alcoholic beverages which may be purchased and brought into their jurisdiction, including in certain cases, requiring the buyer, the seller or the shipper to possess certain licenses or permits. BWS, does NOT, as a condition of sale, assume any obligation nor bear any responsibility whatsoever for applying for or obtaining any such permits or licenses. Therefore, you are strongly advised to investigate such limitations and to determine the manner in which alcoholic beverages may lawfully be brought into states other than California. You are responsible for all applicable excise, use and sales taxes due to your state related to the purchase of any taxable goods.

Extreme weather advisory: Prolonged exposure to heat and freezing temperatures can damage wine. Carriers do not insure against heat or cold damage, and we are unable to take responsibility for such damages after your wine has safely left our facility. You are solely responsible for determining when and by what method you wish us to deliver your order—so be aware of weather conditions before shipping an order. That being said, we do reserve the right to withhold an order if we have clear reason to believe weather conditions are severe enough to significantly endanger the safety of your wine. In such a case, we will notify you promptly and discuss alternatives. In winter and summer we generally do not ship after Tuesdays, since carriers hold shipments over the weekends in their warehouses, where storage conditions may be far from ideal for temperature-sensitive products such as wine.

Insurance (for breakage only) will be added to ALL shipments at an additional charge unless you assume responsibility for breakage during shipment. Subject to the foregoing, Buyer is solely responsible for any loss or damage to the wines once they have left our premises.
