Mottobello means beautiful hill and the Erbaluce that comes from this field lives up to its name. Erbaluce has been a staple at Brigatti for more than three generations. Francesco continues to work it in a traditional manner. Never aging it in wood. Like all of Francesco's wines, he uses only natural yeast for the fermentation, which takes place in stainless steel tank. The juice is kept in tank on the lees for two months and is bottled in April the year after harvest. It is pale lemon color in the glass with slight green reflections. Aromas and flavors of white flowers (locust), cut grass, apple and almond excite the senses. Right now the wine has great balance and is drinking very well. No great rush though as it should continue to drink well over the next three plus years. Try it with fresh, young cheeses, lighter fish dishes, caprese salad or bruschetta. Lots of options with this one.
