Light ruby. Red fruited (griotte cherry but not as intense as the Haut Jarrons) and a touch of herbaceousness that lifts the crystaline fruit flavors and provides freshness. A floral element rounds out the aromas. In the mouth the tannins are fine but present and the wine is fresh, alive and pure to complement lots of red fruit and sweet spices. Real character on this wines. Guillaume had to work extremely hard in selecting the fruit for the Les Sizies in 2013, as like many sites in Beaune it saw some hail damage. His work was exemplary as the wine shows no ill effects. 15 months in neutral oak has resulted in a super effort from what was a less than ideal growing season in Beaune. Will drink well over the next 7+ years.
